
Fi Mutual Fund Matchmaker
The Indian Match Maker finds you the best Mutual Fund match on Fi. But can good production quality be matched with four hours of celebrity availability?
The film aimed to convey that Fi's curated mutual funds baskets were just as effective as the Indian Matchmaker, Sima Taparia, in finding you the perfect match. The ad was strategically released to coincide with the launch of the second season of the viral Indian Matchmaking series. The use of a relevant celebrity association made the advertisement exceptionally memorable.
To achieve Sima Ji's shots in just 4 hours, we meticulously planned for maximum efficiency. It began with adapting the script to ensure it was production-feasible, striking a balance between showcasing varied investment needs and keeping the number of shots manageable.
We conducted location scouting and discovered a spot conveniently located near the celebrity's home in Lower Parel, minimizing the risk of delays caused by traffic.

Additionally, the chosen location possessed unique architectural features that added depth to the visuals.


Casting was a crucial step, and we sought out exceptional actors who could reduce the need for retakes while working alongside Sima Ji in the frame. We found talent that fit both the Indian matchmaking and mutual fund investing archetypes.


The storyboarding process was meticulous, with a keen focus on detail, including shots that allowed for negative space for UI animations in the film.


The budget for this shoot was small and our art was inspired from the lavish and grand Indian Matchmaking sets. Ideally, I would like to book the studio one day in advance of the shoot, allowing the art team ample time to infuse character into the space.
But to save costs, I took a calculated risk and began the art setup early on the day of the shoot rather than securing the studio a day in advance. This decision saved us a full day's studio rental and a day's worth of art team fees. The transformation from the initial setup to the final look took less than 4 hours.

Sima Ji was a delight to work with, charming everyone on set, nailing her lines like the pro she is. The shoot went smoothly with no disasters, and we wrapped an hour earlier than planned—a rare feat.
